The Evening Standard’s Homes & Property supplement is one of the most read here in the Behr & Butchoff office. We were, therefore, excited to see a recent feature on London’s most in-demand streets.
A quick scour revealed 36 addresses that were the most coveted, measured by buyer demand. Our estate agents were not surprised that roads in both St. John’s Wood and Little Venice – two areas that are at the heart of Behr & Butchoff’s sales activity – made the cut.
St. John’s Wood
Homes & Property identified that Cavendish Avenue, Norfolk Road and St Leonard’s Terrace are St. John’s Wood’s most desirable roads – the former reportedly home to Sir Paul McCartney. Their appeal is reflected in the low number of property transactions that occur in these locations – with purchasers loving the homes so much that they retain ownership for several years. In fact, there have only been 17 property transactions on record in Cavendish Avenue since 1995, with only 7 happening after 2012.
Both Randolph Road and Blomfield Road were flagged up as sought-after roads in Little Venice. In Randolph Road, only 13 property transactions have been noted since 2012. In Blomfield Road, data analysis reveals that the last house sold was in 2021. The most coveted properties for sale in Little Venice are those with private gardens, with past residents including Noel Gallagher and Kate Moss.

While few properties change hands in London’s most popular roads, those that do very rarely make it onto online property portals. Buyers are prepared to wait months – even years – for the right property with the right address to come up for sale, therefore they’re not willing to be pipped to the post.
