With some warm sunshine still left in summer, it’s a great time to drink and dine alfresco in the city. St. John’s Wood has a plethora of outside eating and drinking options, and the Behr & Butchoff team have got your day mapped out, from sunrise to sunset. Here’s our favourite places to try:-

Breakfast

Sitting outside Gail’s Bakery on Circus Road is the perfect place to watch the world wake up. Grab a seat, order a mug of its house blend coffee and peruse the baker’s breakfast menu. It is crammed full of tasty choices, from pancakes and porridge to streaky bacon and brioche.

Brunch

Soutine on St John’s Wood High Street draws its influences directly from Paris so it’s no surprise you can dine outside. There is a dedicated brunch menu, including the classic croquet monsieur, which pairs perfectly with the Sunday supplements.

Lunch

The Lord’s Tavern is a haven for cricket lovers, situated next to Lord’s Grace Gates.  There’s a heated and covered terrace to the front, where you can enjoy classic dishes and more Mediterranean fare with a glass of something cold. It’s the perfect stop before watching a match or taking the Lord’s tour.

Afternoon tea

Located in the heart of St. John’s Wood High Street, The Ivy offers casual pavement-style dining set against the restaurant’s iconic red brick and green exterior. Its afternoon tea menu is available between 3pm and 5pm, with classics including scones, sandwiches and a choice of teas.

Dinner

Yasmeen Restaurant serves authentic Lebanese and Moroccan cuisine to loyal St John’s Wood regulars. There’s a smart terrace with ample cover, should there be an unexpected shower, and a mouthwatering menu that has won rave reviews.

Nightcap

Crocker’s Folly is the perfect place to end the day, with an outdoor terrace surrounded by lush trees, colourful flowers and a heated awning for after sundown. Why not try the cigar, brandy and whiskey pairing menu?
